TELL US ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE
Most of my photography influence came from Japanese Photography & also master photographers such as Reinhard Krause, Mika Ninagawa, Chang Chien Chi, Richard Avedon & Annie Leibovitz. I like to bring the word "Curious" into my photo and lighting is very important to me. Adding lights will create a dramatic, even surreal images with the combination of Digital Montage.
WHAT KIND OF PHOTO ASSIGNMENTS THAT YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING?
The most challenging photo assignment was when I have to approach random stranger for a portrait photoshoot; be it on street, inside shopping mall or on the dance floor. In Australia, all you have to do is just introduce yourself nicely and explain about your project; which most of them will accept it. Whereas in Malaysia, a lot of them are still ‘camera shy’, unless you’re lucky that is.
TELL US YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHY SCENE (LOCALLY) IN SABAH? HOW ABOUT THE COMMERCIAL/CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY?
Hrmm... The commercial/creative photography in Sabah is very weak at the moment. Even though there are a lot of Sabahans own a DSLR camera, I do really hope that one day they would explore more different side of photography; not just wedding photography or what I always see nowadays.. taking pretty girls portrait.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST CHERISHED PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE?
My most cherished photography experience is working with Joe Flizzow when he was in Melbourne, Australia. He offered me to document his tour in Melbourne for 2 nights, shoot his portrait and also taking a few shots when he performed on the cruise ship.
Other than that, my photo “Skater Silhouette” got exhibited in the Museum of Love for 3 months in Switzerland, as well as published in JpgMag Issue 10 at the same time.
CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR ANIMA PORTRAIT SHOTS PROJECT?
Anima Portrait is my latest portraiture project. I'm trying to document as many people in various locations. It's a very simple method actually. All the model gotta do is stand in front of the camera… soul-less ;). (I told you.. VERY EASY). You can contact me if you want to become the subject. I am trying to bring as much curiosity and also confusion in the photo as well as try to collect as many portraits as I can by the end of the year 2011. You can visit my photoblog to check out the exact info @ http://phlog.flaneganb.net and search for ‘Anima’.

IN PHOTOGRAPHY ASPECT, WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA YOU THINK A PHOTOGRAPHER SHOULD HAVE TO FIT IN THE DEMAND FOR CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY THESE DAYS?
Besides own a camera, a photographer should know how to bring out the product or the main object in their work. From awesome Lighting, to perfect color, to right models (not just pretty girls) and they must accept/understand the work of commercial photography is always ‘cheating’ (i.e. using Photoshop to edit and enhance the original). It is… A FACT.
I found out that most Sabahans are very poor in editing images using Photoshop software. A creative person should be updated with the latest photo editing software, else they’ll be left behind. Instead of following free tutorial online, why not buy tutorial books created by a Photoshop Beta because they KNOW what they’re doing.
In short, practice, practice, practice!
